Pippa McKinney, 22, posted pictures of the man she'd met and kissed at a nightclub in Manchester on Facebook, saying she had taken his number down wrong, and urging her friends to help her find him. She said the man named Matt, who shemet on her birthday night out, had told her that he was single, and lived in the Wythenshaw area of the city, and she wanted to see him. Problem was, he had a ggirlfriend and she saw Pippa's Facebook post
Her post with a pic of her kissing Matt read:
"Met this guy last night absolutely stunning, took his number down wrong but would love to get to see him again! He's from Whythenshaw [sic] and is called Matt, help anyone haha???"
Her plea however backfired when somebody tagged Matt's girlfriend Emily under the post, which has since been shared more than 2000 times.
At the time Emily had a picture of herself and Matt as her cover photograph, and was listed as "in a relationship", but the photograph has now been taken down by Emily, and she has changed her relationship status on the social networking site to "single" after breaking up with Matt over the incident.

Once Matt's ruse was discovered, Pippa, who said she had no idea Matt had a girlfriend when she met him in AXM posted:
"My God can’t even believe it., knew it would be the case not my fault though as he told me he was single wouldn’t have gone there obviously if I knew he had a girlfriend. Knew I shouldn’t have shared this."
She has since faced something of a backlash online for sharing the picture, but she defended her decision not to delete it, saying:
"He shouldn’t be a fool then. Karma’s a ****, and this poor girl wouldn’t ave known any different if I hadn’t have posted this and he would have carried on like nothing had happened now that is taking the **** out of someone’s life."
Pippa also said she had spoken to Matt's girlfriend Emily to clear the air, posting
"His girlfriend sent me a message asking exactly what had happened so I told her. She was really nice and I felt really bad for her. I feel like a bit of an idiot because it has caused a riot.
'I messaged Matty and he told me to take the photo down and said he knew he had f**** up. He told me he didn't remember anything.'
Pippa was also shocked to be at the receiving end of abuse on the Facebook thread.

"Some right judgey people my god! Thanks massively to the people/friends/family who have stuck up for me, honestly didn't expect this to happen and my heart well and truly goes out to Emily who in fact I have spoken to an she's lovely ‪#‎girlssticktogeather‬ ‪#‎viralspiral.‬

'Whenever I go out I feel like people are looking at me now as it seems everyone has heard about what happened. I just thought he was a really nice guy but I was obviously wrong. I do feel a bit sorry for him now as there is so many people laughing at him but then he shouldn't have done what he did and he will have to face the consequences. I have been getting lots of abuse from people too but at the end of the day I was innocently looking for a lad I liked who I thought was single - I didn't do anything wrong.
'From now on I'm going to be really wary before speaking to anyone else in a club or a bar in future as it has put me off. I would definitely be checking their number properly before I left if I did meet anyone I liked, but this incident has made me very wary to meet lads in bars.'
